Reise Pieces 03

Exploring the of Possibilities of My PSP

I'm new to everything PSP, but I have proper equipment to do fun things now. I discovered the .iso and .cso for PSP on the web and wanted to use them with my PSP. Here's what I have:

PSP Slim: God of War Special Edition
5.03 Official Sony Firmware
USB Cord
4Gig MagicGate: SanDick Ultra II Memory Stick Pro Duo (15mb/s)
Net Connection
Window Vista

I researched a little bit, but I wanted to be sure because this PSP was given to me as gift. Maybe a used gift *eyeroll* but a B-Day gift. I don't want my PSP to get messed up because I really *can't* afford another one and rather like this fetching color. It is the favorite shade of my favorite color.

I do have experience using emulators, roms, and disc images, but I wasn't too sure about the PSP. Can anyone help me step by step?

Have you ever wanted to stream movies, tv shows, maybe even your netflix queue?

Well now there is a solution!!! Playon is a third party app you can use on your PC as a media server to stream content to your tv using your consoles!!!

It is compatible with Mac's, PC's and Linux devices. You can also stream media through your xbox, xbox 360 or your PS3.

And with just a simple tweak using your remote play function on your PS3 you can stream media straight to the PSP as well!!!!

Wow, this has to be the most

Wow, this has to be the most stunningly simple implementations I've seen yet. After reading these posts, I tried it out myself and I now have a little portable TV that works great!

If anyone has a PS3 or a home computer I would suggest lookin at folding@home project.
It's pretty cool most home computers can run the program with ease. I also added on this Lj profile my team icon that I'm part of.

It's basically a program that is designed to fold and unfold proteins for research designed by Stanford university. With this research they will one day be able to find a cure for lots of todays diseases.

If you are running the program on a ps3 you will get graphic interface like this.
The little dots behind the protein are every user who using a PS3 to run the folding@home program.

This is waht you'll get if you use it on a desktop.

Now the graphics will vary based on your computers GPU....

New PSP exploit found in GripShift, works on PSP-3000

Posted Jan 03, 2009 at 08:55AM by Gino D.

Now this is how you start a new year! New exploit, old game! Damn, it's so cool to actually see this beauty working - and on a PSP-3000 no less! The PSP scene was buzzing the other day when MaTiAz found an exploit (read: buffer overflow!) in the three year old game, GripShift.

For anyone who has a 3000 this is pretty cool!!!!!
Although it's only ofr europe region only i'm sure they'll find out somethin for us!!!!

I know this Community has been dead for months now. There haven't been a lot of updates comin from me, and this is fault on my part. But as a Community everyone has input as well, everyone knows that PSP's haven't really had much exciting news lately.

If you do know about anything related to PSP's, PS2/PS3's, or Xboxes(old & new) please post this how we all get or info on the new news comin out. Here say is the best way to get information across.

Thanx for those who still come back to see if there are articles, updates or what have you. Please keep this Community alive I'd hate to see another dead community....

New Firmware Update!!!!

So its seems 4.00 might be out soon with some real interesting items! It might not be what we are looking for in the new firmware but you never know what new things are hiding waiting to be brought out!!!!

PSP (PlayStation Portable) v4.00 Update

+ Posted by Eric Lempel // Director, PlayStation Network Operations

I wanted to give you all a heads up that a new PSP system software update, v4.00, will be released soon, adding Google Internet search directly to the XMB (XrossMediaBar) interface.

This new upgrade replicates the Google Internet search experience, delivering the same search results that you’d get at www.google.com. And with a search history recall of 20 items, Web searches couldn’t be easier.

After you download and install the firmware on your PSP, click on the XMB’s Network icon and then the new Internet Search icon. Enter your keywords and then let Google’s algorithms do the work. You’ll need to be connected to the Internet via a wireless access point or Wi-Fi hotspot. Googling something on the go has never been more convenient on your PSP.

Another new feature delivered through the 4.00 update is the ability to change viewing speed during playback of videos stored on your Memory Stick PRO Duo, so you can speed through or slow down what you’re watching. To do this simply press the up or down directional buttons while playing a video. Enjoy!

R1 and R2 Trigger Mod!!!

Its not the prettiest thing to look at but it makes those PS1 games so much easier to play.
Article from PSP Updates...

Some games from the PSOne era are just too irresistible to pass up on your PSP, but sadly, the lack of the L2 and R2 buttons (and, of course, the right-side analog stick) on the handheld somewhat prevents the more sentimental of us to play them.

While there are other ways to map the L2 and R2 shoulder buttons on the PSP, some of us might want to go retro and actually physically have the buttons right there on top. In comes Acid Mods member Electro who shows us how to work around this little problem.

The modder was able to hook up two mini shoulder buttons on the PSP Phat as stand-ins for the L2 and R2. "This MOD is for the fat PSP, but you can do the same on the Slim," clarifies Electro, "Although I would never take my Slim apart. :P"

Check out the little demo vid he's uploaded below. And if you want to get a full tutorial of how to do this for yourself (take note: this mod requires you to do some soldering work right onto the PSP's motherboard, so better be sure you know the risks it entails), you can click the Via link after the video below.

Firmware 4.0 Poll

Okay I'm tryin to keep the community alive! I'm still stryin to bring you guys the most out of this place, by telling to you about the latest in whats going on with the PSP. But as you know not much has happened, other than releases of patches for the playability between the PSP and PS3, which can be useful for some who own the PS3 and even use the PSP in conjuction with it.
Anyway heres a poll that I thought everyone would like to fill out since converting videos is a pain in the ass, this will come in handy if it happens.

Poll #1176370 coming of Firmware 4.0

With rumors of Divx playability on PSP how many will change there firmware to 4.0?

Yup, can't wait!
Nope don't see the need...
What the hell is Divx!!!!
